Join us for an evening highlighting the "Three Sisters" in a true farm-to-table fashion!
Green Door Gourmet's Culinary team will present a delicious, served buffet of dishes that features the Three Sisters; corn, beans and squash.
Vegetarian options will be included on the buffet.
The origin of the Three Sisters comes from the tribes of the Iroquois and Cherokee. They planted these three crops together because of the way the plants support and nuture each other in close proximity. The corn stalks give the beans' vines climbing support while the beans are fertilizing the corn and the squash. The squash comes in with protection with its rough, spiny leaves adn this protects the vegetables from predators and nusances.
